Florida to Maine Bike Trip - Prepping and Planning

Three hours at Orange Cycle in Orlando.  Thanks to Andrew for his wealth of knowledge, experience with touring details and a great fit on my shoes.  Andrew tweaking the cleats made a world of difference to my foot with the oh-so-painful-when-riding bunion. I rode 30 miles tonight in far greater comfort.

Decided to load up on the lights for the safety factor and have one mounted on the rear of the bike, on my helmet and in the front of the bike.  In fact on the way home tonight, a little girl saw me on the trail, lights blazing and exclaimed, "Mom, look at the twinkles!!!!!"

Plans underway to get to my home town, Duxbury, after the Tuesday night Portsmouth celebration and wind down a couple of days before heading home.

PS - for any editors out there, and I know who some of you are:)), I finally found the spell check on this site and have corrected every misspelled word!!!!!!!

Oh My Diane ! What a wonderful thing you're doing. I saw this on Peyton's FB and I couldn't believe it! I am very familiar with blogspot because my son Dan used it almost everyday when he did the AT trek from Georgia to Maine 2 years ago. If you're interested his blog was dmdthruhike.blogspot.com . I will follow your quest as I followed his and I wish you the very best on your trip. Love, Ruth Darcy

keep watching this blog for updates. We're stepping toes into Maine (Kittery) and then meeting whoever shows up at Nubbel Lighthouse in Portsmouth. I'll put it's address up way before we arrive and will get you connected via cell phone to my girlfriend who is coming up from RI. It's a 50 mile ride day, so depending on how tired we are....arriving around lunchtime. We'll have a sense of our speed/stamina once we get going and can be more precise.
Can hardly wait to see you both. OMG. What a wonderful treat.
